Pros and cons of Vinoteka app for iPhone and iPad

Vinoteka app good for

It takes some reading to get it right, and a weekend to get the hang of it, but after that, you are hooked, constantly admiring the shelves in your cellar. You can finally rearrange tour wine without disturbing it! Absolutely worth the money, especially in combination with the Mac application.
Certainly not the best software its possible to make. Although works well with iPad and Mac. If you dont have a Mac, this iPhone and iPad app wont impress you. Problem is, there is no extraordinary software for managing cellars... A lot of place for improvement, but still pretty useful if you have a Mac.
Acceptable database Has most wines I tried (through wine-place database) Scanning barcode doesnt work (I am in Canada) but it is a small issue as I can easily find wines with one or two keywords no cloud sync (I am not going to sink manually its 2013 bro) so you really can use it on a single device. Limited stats section Still the best I could find so far
This app is visually stunning and a great app. It is also a "must have" if you have the desktop version of Vinoteka (which you **should** have if you keep more than a few bottles in the house). The app makes shopping for wine easy as you can take your collection and notes with you on your touch or iPhone. No more having to remember what you do or dont have or like or dont like...its all stored in the app! They offer great tech support and the price is great, too. I am a very satisfied customer.
Along with Vinoteka for iMac, this is a great app to track and organize your wine cellar, add tasting notes & sync between the two. I understand scanning will be included in the near future which will make it perfect.
I use both the Mac and iPad version - they synch. The iPhone version is buggy and crashes every time I use it. Since I mostly use this on the Mac I dont mind that much. Im just surprised that they dont fix the bugs on the iPhone version. If you are only using this on the iPhone - do not buy it. If you are using the Mac version, its good.

Some bad moments

The database is incomplete, out of 90 wines scanned, less than 10 matches, and everything needs to be entered manually. Cannot compete versus vivino or cellar tracker, especially given the price paid...
Its a nice approach to a wine cellar app, and with some significant improvements could be great. Yet since 2014 they havent managed to get the sync function between Mac and iPhone/iPad back to work, and the support is highly unresponsive. Given the high prices, this is close to fraud.
This software lacks an intuitive interface. It froze five minutes after downloading. Unusable. Save your money.
Tried it, didnt recognize liberty school, then tried jlhor, then beringer knights valley .... Dont waste your money ....
When are you going to get this app right? Every time it gets updated I think its going to work to its full potential, but I am constantly let down. With the latest update, I cant even search my cellar because the search bar is stuck above the top of the screen. I cant even search image labels anymore!! This app has so much potential but is constantly letting me down.
This company takes way too long reaching out to its customers. Ive loved the software and love What it had to offer but havent been able to use my new version for six months. The principles dont reach out to the customers and keep them abreast. Ive moved on to Vivino, a better wine database ap but far less superior in the cellar capabilities. Shame shame
